New Features in Artlantis 5
To take advantage of the benefits a wider screen has to offer, the Artlantis 5 interface has been completely redesigned. Artlantis 5 optimizes the project's display, and offers an even larger preview size.
Artlantis 5 makes it easier and more comfortable than ever to work on your projects: standardized on MacOS and Windows, Artlantis 5's interface is based on a single clear window, adjustable and easy-to-use.
With its inspectors grouped at the top of the screen, the working window is more readable. As a result, the number of clicks needed to access the desired feature has been considerably reduced !

Artlantis 5 offers new features to your perspectives - each point of view now has its own infinite ground with altitude and material, as well as background and foreground images.
Artlantis 5 also introduces a new function particularly useful for high vertical projects, the Architect camera. This option displays the project in two vanishing points only to obtain real verticals.
Finally, Artlantis 5 offers better visibility of your project in the 2D view thanks to a sectional cut at the height of the camera and the display of textures.

Using the new media catalog is fast and efficient. Its organization into categories (icons) and subcategories (titles) allows you to choose in seconds the right media for a project. For better use of workspace, the catalog window can be moved independently on a second screen if one is available.

Taking advantage of the new catalog, Artlantis 5 includes new shaders. Some are optimized with additional parameters like relief mapping to better simulate the depths of surfaces.
In addition, non-repetitive tiling shaders and multi-texture natural shaders simulate natural surfaces like ground, grass, and water.

Media Store
The Artlantis 5 revolution would not be complete without the InApp Media Store offering more than 5,000 objects and shaders of all kinds for purchase. Enrich your catalog at any time by logging in and downloading new media that are automatically placed in the correct categories and subcategories of your catalog.
Artlantis 5 includes a media converter application. Users of previous versions can convert their own library or previously purchased Artlantis Media CDs.

Editing lights in the 2D view or in the preview? Thanks to the new 'vertical guides' in Artlantis 5, lighting can be edited quickly and easily in both windows. It allows you to position the direction and fall-off of a single light or of a selection of lights right in the 3D space.

Last but not least, Artlantis 5 simulates the volumetric effect of a light by adding a cone of light at each spot in your scene.

With Artlantis 5, the manual heliodon can be set easier than ever by adjusting the angles for zenith and azimuth right in the Inspector.
Like the lights, the volumetric effect of the rays of light, or 'God rays', can be added in post-process in the heliodon settings. To give you greater freedom in image reprocessing, these effects are recorded in specific layers when exporting in PSD.

iVisit 3D
In addition to panoramas, Artlantis 5 and iVisit 3D can now create VR Objects! The display quality of iVisit 3D panoramas and VR Objects is better than ever -- whether you're viewing on a website or on a mobile device. For unlimited sharing, a new Android application is now available on Google Play, in addition to that from the AppStore.

To improve your experience using multi-node panoramas, iVisit 3D now offers two navigation methods: 1) keep the point of view of the direction you're moving in, or 2) choose the default view of each node. The navigation thumbnails precisely represent each point of view.

The Artlantis Studio 5 Timeline has been optimized to ensure precise control of all events and movements associated with your animations.
Each animated parameter is now presented as a track and as a hierarchical list. With magnetic guides, the key frame will snap automatically and graphically, ensuring a fluid connection and simplified synchronization of sequences.
To enhance your animation, new high-definition 3D characters are available for sale in the Media Store.

New Features in Artlantis 4.1
ISO / Shutter Speed
Automatic lighting adjustment has been available since the launch of Artlantis 3.
With Artlantis 4.1, users can now choose to keep this setting or use a new feature called ISO/Shutter.
ISO refers to the sensitivity of camera film, while the Shutter Speed refers to the length of time the camera's aperture stays open when taking a picture.
Artlantis 4.1 offers better color quality and more realistic results.

HDRi Background
A 'HDR image' provides a spherical background as well as an overall illumination with shadows and full, 360 degree reflections.
The 3D lit environment generated around scenes ensures a background for all camera views combined with a range of real light intensity.
This also makes HDR images valuable for scenes that contain reflective surfaces.
With the special lighting channel included in HDR images, the illumination and shadow casting will result in very realistic renderings.

Optional Maxwell Render Engine
Artlantis is the fastest 3D rendering application available today for architects and designers.
Maxwell Render Engine is considered to be the most physically accurate rendering engine on the market.
Abvent and Next Limit Technologies have teamed up to offer the Maxwell Render Engine as an optional rendering engine within Artlantis 4.1.
Complete with specific shaders and postcards, the Maxwell Render Engine is so easy to use.
Simply set up your scene in Artlantis as usual, and click on the Maxwell Render Engine button to launch the calculation.
With Artlantis 4.1, you get the best of both worlds: speed and physical accuracy.

New Features in Artlantis 4.0
Quality Improvements
Like in photography, the respect of color is essential in rendering.
The new radiosity engine improves images for a better perception of colors, textures, and materials. Tone correction is a new post-process tool that allows you to lighten dark images and vice versa.
A new Fresnel Shader has been added to the library. It is particularly suitable for metallic car bodies. Transparent surfaces are now better-managed in this new engine.

Performance Improvements
In addition to these quality improvements, Artlantis 4 is faster than ever.
The average is TWO times faster, and SEVEN times faster if the project uses many Neon Shaders.
In order to better handle large projects, Artlantis is now optimized for 64-bits on Macintosh and Windows.

Productivity Improvements
The new Horizontal projection function simplifies working with complex roofing.
The Batch rendering work can be reorganized and filtered before launching.
In 2D view, the duplicated objects are positioned with gravity on the project.
A new Explode by Mesh function separates automatically the different meshes to simplify the material assignment.
A multiple selection of objects can now be set at the same time.

iVisit 3D Panoramas (Artlantis Studio only)
Create a true, virtual tour inside your project with multi-node panoramas.
Everything needed for viewing panoramas on your Website is automatically created by Artlantis Studio 4.
The player is free of charge and based on Flash technology and is compatible with Macintosh, Windows, Linux and even Android operating system.

For iPhone and iPad users, a specific application allows you to view and share these panoramas.
iVisit 3D App is available in two versions (Lite and Pro) from the App Store.
iVisit 3D Lite is free, but is limited to one viewing per day.
